How to write a Great Questions essay
Submissions to the essay competition should be no longer than 1500 words.
Essays must address and incorporate the arguments of the contributing authors on the Great Question of the student's choice. To access the articles click here.
Essays must demonstrate the following:
- Clearly and concisely identify the positions of the authors and the reasoning behind each position.
- Clearly state your own position (Who do you agree with? Why?) and offer sound reasons for supporting some arguments and rejecting others.
Support your position with an argument based on evidence, recognising that evidence is information which is relevant, accurate, and important and conclude with a restatement of the final position.
Observe the usual conventions of spelling, grammar, etc.
Please note the students should not submit essays that they have already submitted for classes in their high school or undergraduate program.
